This left the right-most end of the attachment bar,
                which was removed by tilting the bar a bit (and
                scraping off 55 years of dirt.)
                
                
              
            

                Although it’s not too clear in these images, the
                next thing I did was to remove the left-most
                linkage (the one that attaches to the break-setting
                mechanism) by removing a second cotter pin.
